Senior Secondary Classes

The School follows a Scheme of Examination for Classes XI & XII as per CBSE Guidelines. The CBSE Board will conduct an All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) at the end of Class XII, whereas Class XI Examinations shall be conducted by the school.

Secondary Classes
  • The CCE pattern shall stand discontinued for the students of Class - VI-X since 2017 as per CBSE guidelines.
  • Appearance in assessments and examinations is compulsory.
  • 75% attendance is compulsory for students of class VI onwards to be eligible to take the Final examination.
  • For classes VI - VIII the academic year 2018-19 is divided into two terms.
  • Classes IX- XII follow a year-end pattern with half yearly exams in September 2018 and Final/Board Exams in March 2019.

Yearly Exam Written exam for 80 marks with Syllabus coverage as below:
Class VI: 10% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire Syllabus of 2nd term
Class VII: 20% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term
Class VIII: 30% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

  • Co-Scholastic Areas for Class VI-VIII :

    These activities will be graded on a 3 - Points Grading Scale (A to C) and will have no descriptive indicators. No upscaling of grades will be done. The co-scholastic areas are as follows :

    • ● Work Education - Awarded by the concerned teacher.
    ● Art Education - Awarded by the concerned teacher.
    ● Health & physical Education -By the Physical Education Teacher.
  • Discipline (VI-VIII): :

    The students will also be assessed for the discipline which will be based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, Nation and others. Grading on Discipline will be done term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair)

    2 Discipline::

  • 8-Point grading will be followed by the X board (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D & E (Failed).
  • Students are assessed on both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas.
  • Students of Classes IX and XI scoring 33% and above in all subjects will only qualify for promotion to class X and XII respectively.
  • Poor performance will entail denial of promotion to further classes.
  • Practicals / Project work are also included for all the subjects in the curriculum from classes VI onwards.

  • As per the guidelines from NES, the Academic year for classes I to V will be divided into two terms
    • ● Term I - April to September
    ● Term II - October to March
  • Examination Pattern
    • i) Four cyclic Test per term will be conducted for class I and II.
    Term-I: Cyclic Test 1.2.3.4
    Term II: Cyclic Test 5,6,7.8
    An evaluation (written exam) will be taken in a term for classes III-V.
    Term I: Assessment-1, Assessment-II
    Term II: Assessment-II, Assessment-IV
    ● Assessment dates will be promulgated. Students should not be absent on the given dates.
    ● Computer is not a graded subject for classes I & II.
    ● GK (Classes I to V) and Computer (Classes III to V) will be assessed once a term.
    ● Value based questions will be incorporated in every subject so value education will not be graded separately.
    ● A few competencies will be graded on a continuous basis throughout the term.
    ● For classes I & II three main subjects, i.e. English, Hindi & Math Concept exams will be conducted. Whereas III to V will have four main subject              concept exams, i.e. English, Hindi, Math and EVS.
    ● For Classes I & II the portion of Assessment-I will not be taken for Assessment II. Similarly, the portion of Assesment-III will not be taken for                            Assessment-IV.
    ● For Class-III a few concepts of Assessment-I will be taken for Assessment-II. Term II will not carry concepts of Term I.
    ● For Classes IV & V a few concepts of Assessment-I will be assesssed in Assessment-II in Term-I. Assessment-III will not carry any concept of Term-             I. However Assessment-IV will carry few important concepts of the Term-I. The specific chapters will be intimated to you. Note books to be                             preserved.
  • Students performance is graded using the 'five points scale' formulated by The Central Board of Secondary Education.

C Good 35% - 55%
